PHOTOGRAPHS Since photographs dominate the initial offering, we'll fly with a few generalized assumptions (1) unless otherwise stated, quality of image is very good; (2) thumbnails might not show all of the image area since irrelevant sky and ground were cropped from many of them in order to make the image larger; (3) they are 10" x 8" (or close by) glossy photos unless a size is shown. On advice from friends wise in selling and buying on the news groups and mailing lists and such, and from analysis of photo sales on Ebay, we set a median of $7.00 for an average 8x10 in very good condition. However, that is a wide-open parameter since there are so many variables, especially one of collector value. Some are just nice pictures of airplanes, while some can be extremely rare. So prices shift up or down with evaluation. Many are valuable because of uniqueness, scarcity, and other obvious factors, and many are bargain priced because they're commonly available or lack appeal to most collectors. The "clinkers" in our files won't make it to these pages. If you think a photo is overpriced, make an offer. We're easy. We might put you on hold for a couple of weeks, or we just might say "send money" and be done with it. We'll be modifying things as the Hangar Sale progresses and we gain some smarts. With 20 to 30 photos per page, we request that when buying a photo please state its number, or at least which page it is on, and save us sending out a search party. |
